ZETA AMICAE OF ORANGEBURG, SC

As early as 1940, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated had begun to realize the importance of the prestige, goodwill, unity, and cooperation of women who for various reasons were not members of any Greek-letter organizations.

These women were organized into auxiliaries, but it wasn’t until 1948 when Grand President, Lullelia Harrison included in her report to the 1948 Boule’ in session, a recommendation that chapters be allowed to organize auxiliaries and all such auxiliaries be known as Zeta “Amicae” (Friends of Zeta).

Today Amicae Auxiliaries are in all eight regions of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and have and continue to render invaluable community service and thousands of dollars helping Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated extend their outreach to the communities where they live and serve.
